History

Menes

Menes

In 1985, the AVS (Dutch Arabian Horse Association and Studbook) was fifty years young and they celebrated with a special show at the equine federation center in Ermelo. For the first time we came face to face with the purebred Arabian horse. We were impressed by their beauty, great intelligence and gentle character. It was only a year later when we bought our first mares from Theo and Gerrie van Roosmalen. Our first broodmares were Ridaa (Aatik x Basileia) and Shifaq (Mufaq x Shira). Both were at the time in foal to world champion Amal (Abdullah x Naomi ).

Out of these two breedings, we were blessed with two fillies named Raquin and Shieka. That was the beginning of our stud farm.

In 1989, we bought Bora (Abdullah x Rose or Saron) as a stallion and saddle horse for our son Cedes. They were a great combination and in that time they won lots of prizes together. With him we bred some wonderful athletic horses with great characters.

In 1994, we formed a partnership with Jean Mattens from Belgium, to buy the world famous stallion Menes (Nabeg x Metropolia), bred out of Polish bloodlines, born in Russia out of the legendary mare Mammona. Menes died in 2001 at the age of 24 years, after spending a few good seasons with the Kuijf family at Forelocks Arabians in Nieuwkoop. The influence of Menes is still very evident today.

In the years before Menes' passing, we had aquired the mare Sivka from the USA. A beautiful Strike daughter out of the mare Gay Polly of dominantly Polish bloodlines. She proved a great combination with Menes and left us two fantastic breeding horses out of that combination, the broodmare Sivnesse and the 1st premium stallion Sivmen B. Sivmen was recently exported to the Stricklin/Stone Partnership, USA, siring some very correct and prizewinning offspring.

After the millenium we started our search for new bloodlines to expand the breeding program. Our interest was captured by the industry-changing influence of Padron's Psyche in the USA.
We were given the opportunity to import a full brother to the Psyche son Enzo (Padron's Psyche x RD Bey Shampane) from the USA by the name of Amalfi. Amalfi was an instant hit in the Netherlands and beyond. Besides a National Champion Junior Stallions title in 2006 and two National Reserve-Champion titles in 2007 and 2008,  Amalfi acquired the prestigeous status of 1st premium breeding stallion in 2009.

In that same period we also imported a broodmare of exceptional bloodlines called FA Jada (Padron's Psyche x Hafati Vogue by RSD Dark Victory). Being in foal to Enzo, it proved to be a promising acquisition. We were very excited with her filly that was born at our stud. We named her BB Jhadenz and she became Natonal Championship filly at the Dutch Nationals in 2006.

Padrons Psyche

Ali Jamaal

Our most recent purchase from the US is the mare Psybrina (Psymadre by Padrons Psyche x Bey Unforgettable by Bey Shah). She came to us in foal to Major Jamaal, a double Ali Jamaal Grandson. Again, to our delight, the in-utero foal was a filly. We named her BB Psy-Majora Jamaal and she is maturing nicely at our farm.

In 2009 and 2010 we leased Raffael El Than from La Movida Arabians in Austria. This young stallion from predominantly Ali Jamaal and El Shaklan bloodlines, has proven to be an interesting match to our Padrons Psyche daughters and the first crop of foals looks promising !
